  • Step 1

    Step 1

Three 18ct white gold four claw settings for the individual stones are soldered together to create the head of the ring. Tongs held in the left hand hold the setting securely whilst the solder is applied and heated with the soldering torch.

  • Step 2

    Step 2

The head of the ring is now ready to be joined to the solid 18ct gold shank. The shank is held firmly with clamps to allow solder to be heated to join the two parts to create the ring.

  • Step 3

    Step 3

Fine grained glass paper is used to blend the solder and create a very smooth surface over the entire ring. This is done by hand over the inner and outer surface of the shank and claw settings.

  • Step 4

    Step 4

The claws are drilled on the inside to form the secure setting for the precious stones. The diamonds are set by hand pressing the claws firmly over the top of the stones.

  • Step 5

    Step 5

The Tanzanite stone is positioned in the central four claw setting. The claws are individually grained over each stone with enough pressure to hold them securely in place.

  • Step 6

    Step 6

The completed ring is polished by hand using jewellers rouge and graded motorised polishing mops. The ring is finally rhodium plated to enhance the whiteness of the 18ct white gold.

  • Step 7

    Step 7

The 18ct white gold brilliant cut Tanzanite and Diamond three stone ring is complete. The ring has a 1.50ct round brilliant cut Tanzanite with two round brilliant cut diamonds totalling 1.00 carat.
